Kalustesuunnittelun kurssityönä tehty jakkara, Rei, jossa kaikki liitokset on puuliitoksia. Kalusteissa ei saanut käyttää mitään muita liitoskeinoja, esimerkiksi liimaa tai nauloja. Kurssilla tehdyt jakkarat ja tuolit esiteltiin vuosikurssin yhteisessä näyttelyssä No Trace.

“NO TRACE

Humans have inhabited the world for thousands of years, but  little evidence is left of their way of living. Only in special circumstances some trace of their housing or everyday items can be found. They lived in harmony with the nature.

What are we leaving behind?

As furniture and spatial designer students we have focused on furniture. Even the things considered environment friendly often contain elements that are not. Wooden furniture is often joint with glues, varnishes, nails and screws, which will have a permanent impact on nature. Our focus in making these stools was that after they have reached their end it is safe to burn them or simply leave them outside and let nature do its thing. Technically we are not making anything new, rather taking a step back respecting the old way of life. The stools are combinations of old techniques and new form.”
